Brenton Wood, born Alfred Jesse Smith, was a soul icon whose 1967 hits "The Oogum Boogum Song" and "Gimme Little Sign" became global favorites. Inspired by Sam Cooke, his playful yet soulful style won hearts worldwide.

Fun fact: his stage name came from Brentwood, CA! A Lowrider Oldies legend, Brenton passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, at 83. His timeless music keeps his legacy alive.
