How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful is the third studio album by English indie rock band Florence and the Machine, released on 29 May 2015 by Island Records. It marked a triumphant return after a year-long hiatus, debuting at number one on the UK Albums Chart with 68,788 copies sold in its first week, and topping the US Billboard 200.

The album represents Florence Welch’s most personally excavating work, born from a period of emotional turbulence during a break in Los Angeles. Encouraged by Taylor Swift to channel her inner turmoil rather than conceal it, Welch blended the band’s trademark harps and ethereal vocals with nods to Fleetwood Mac (“Queen of Peace”), 1970s dance (“Ship to Wreck”) and Motown-style grooves (title track “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful”).
